Do you pray to Jesus?

Here is the Mormon Conflict:

DO YOU PRAY TO JESUS?
“…some misguided members of the Church may ‘begin to pray directly to Christ because of some special friendship they feel has been developed’ with him. This is wrong, said Elder McConkie. We should pray directly to the Father...” —The Ensign, June 1998, p. 59

Who did the Nephites in the Book of Mormon pray to?
“...Jesus came… he commanded his disciples that they should pray. And behold, they began to pray; and they did pray unto Jesus, calling him their Lord and their God.” —3 Nephi 19:15, 17-18

Kinda confusing is it not. Conversely this is what Christians adhere to:

Who did Paul and Stephen in the Bible pray to?

“…I besought the Lord thrice... And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory…that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”—2 Corinthians 12:8-9
“And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”—Acts 7:59
How can you have “fellowship” with someone you never talk to?
“…and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” —1 John 1:3
Is the Mormon Jesus even the same Jesus as the Jesus of the Christian Bible?

“President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ. No, I don't. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak.’ ” —LDS Church News, June 20, 1998, p. 7
Can We Be Saved by the Worship of a Fake Christ?
Jesus of Mormonism
Jesus of the Bible
Lucifer’s Spirit Brother
Not his brother – but his Creator
Son of an “Exalted Man”
God’s Son – God is “not a Man”
Not Begotten of the Holy Ghost
Begotten of the Holy Ghost
Attained his “Godhood”
Always Been God
Some Sins His Blood Can’t Cover
His Blood Covers “ALL” Sin
“…We cannot obtain salvation and eternal life by worshipping fake Christs…” — Seventy Bernard P. Brockbank, The Ensign, May 1977, pp. 26-27
“Not every one that saith unto Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’shall enter into the kingdom of heaven...Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name...and in Thy name have done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from Me….”—Matthew 7:21-23
